- Welcome to Roo's blog. Some of you might know me as Rachel, but when you're as opinionated as I am, it's safer to be slightly more anonymous online. This is my first blog - I'm surprised I've never taken to publicly voicing my many opinions before, but it was a class assignment that first brought me to the blogosphere. As the Police song goes, 'I'm an Englishman in New York', well I'm an English woman in the States, so this blog will likely have a nice amalgamation of British and American English on it. My intention here is to blog about all things PhD, including assigned readings, daily reflections, and I expect the occasional frustration. I've always wanted to be a movie reviewer, so I may also take this opportunity to rant about or praise uncontrollably movies I'm currently watching. Enjoy - feel free to leave a comment.
